The Private Office Business Process Seminar consists of a dinner program Friday night followed by the seminar on Saturday from 8:00am – 3:00pm. Meals and lodging for Friday & Saturday are covered by Kerecis for participating doctors and medical professionals.

Courtney Aldridge, is a talented Physician Assistant practicing in San Antonio, TX. She graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelors degree in Genetics. After teaching high school for two years, Courtney decided to return to school to become a Physician Assistant. She completed a three-year program at the School of Allied Health at the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in the very competitive Physician Assistant program.
Courtney continues to hold an appointment as Adjunct Clinical Faculty for the School of Allied Health at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio, and trains PA students as a Clinical Preceptor. Courtney has been providing care for patients at the South Texas Skin & Wound since 2007. There she has a hand in all parts of the practice including pre-operative consultations, post-operative care, patient communication, and assisting in surgical procedures.
Dr. Rimi Statkus received his Bachelor of Podiatry in 2006 from La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia. He worked in Australia as an advanced podiatrist focusing on sports medicine and diabetic limb salvage for over six years before coming to the US to advance his surgical skills. In 2016, he completed his Podiatric Medical degree at Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ, before moving to Chicago to complete his surgical residency at Rush University Medical Center.
Dr. Statkus is board-certified by the American Board of Foot & Ankle Surgery. He is on the Executive Committee and is the Treasurer of the Illinois Podiatric Medical Association, a Fellow of the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons and Research Coordinator of the Northwest Illinois Foot & Ankle Foundation Fellowship Program. Spending his time between the clinic and the operating room, he also works at 3 different wound care centers and has a strong focus on limb salvage and surgical reconstruction.
Dr. Peter Lovato is a podiatric surgeon with Northern Illinois Foot & Ankle Specialists and practices in the northwest Chicago suburbs. He is double board certified in forefoot and reconstructive rearfoot & ankle surgery with the American board of foot & ankle surgery.
Dr. Lovato is on staff at Northwestern Wound Care Center and is the chief of podiatric surgery for Northwestern Huntley & McHenry hospitals. He is the education chair and attending with the Northwest Illinois Foot & Ankle Foundation reconstructive surgery Fellowship. He is also an attending with the Rush University residency program. He is the current Vice President of the Illinois Podiatric Medical Association and has been on the board since 2018.
Dr. Kirsten L. Smith is Board Certified in General Surgery and specializes in Wound Care. Dr. Smith graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, Natural Sciences and Mathematics from Washington and Lee University. She graduated from medical school at the University of Texas Health & Science Center San Antonio. She then completed a residency in General Surgery at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland, Oregon.
Dr. Smith entered private practice in San Antonio, Texas where she provided outpatient and inpatient wound care as well as hyperbaric medicine at the Methodist Wound Care Center. In 2020, she joined forces with Burn and Reconstructive Centers of America to help develop a combined burn and wound program for San Antonio. She has collaborated on multiple research projects with the ECMO team and rehab teams at Methodist hospital.
In 2023 she partnered with Dr. Ryan O’Quinn and PA Courtney Aldridge to create South Texas Skin & Wound the premier private wound care center in South Texas. Together they provide the most compassionate and excellent care for patients with wounds and provide the best outcomes for our referring provider’s patients.
Dr. O’Quinn is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon who specializes in the prevention, early diagnosis, and definitive treatment of skin cancers. He completed his BS in Biology at Baylor University. He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston where he graduated as one of the top students in his class and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
Dr. O’Quinn completed a medical internship at the Yale School of Medicine/Yale-New Haven Hospital in Connecticut prior to beginning residency in the Division of Dermatology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. At Vanderbilt, he served as Chief Resident in his final year of training. Dr. O’Quinn then went to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to complete his training in the most competitive Mohs Micrographic Surgery/Dermatologic Surgery fellowship under the direction of two true surgical pioneers, Dr. David G. Brodland and Dr. John A. Zitelli (one of Dr. Frederic Mohs’ original students).
Dr. O’Quinn returned to San Antonio in 2002 and established the South Texas Skin Cancer Center. He also opened the South Texas Ambulatory Surgery Center where he is the current Medical Director.
The Private Office Business Process Seminar is a one-evening, one-day event. For attending healthcare professionals, Kerecis covers one night’s lodging and meals for the duration of the workshop in return for full participation in the seminar and the follow-up surveys. Kerecis does not pay or reimburse for travel arrangements for family members, including spouses.
Government employees are not eligible to participate in this event without prior written approval.
