Celebrating its 17th year, the J.M.S. Burn Symposium is an annual conference that focuses on improving burn care in the U.S. The symposium features leading healthcare experts and sessions for educational credits, attracting a diverse audience of healthcare professionals. As a result, it has become one of the most significant burn education events in the U.S. The symposium is presented by the BRCA Foundation, a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to facilitating community and practitioner education about burn, wound and hand care. Founded in 2018, the BRCA Foundation continuously works to increase knowledge of burn prevention and care. It advances the specialized care of patients by improving access to burn education programs for first responders, firefighters, EMTs, paramedics, nurses, physicians and other medical personnel. In addition, the BRCA Foundation helps foster future generations of burn care providers through fellowship, scholarship and other opportunities–working towards a world where every person knows how to help prevent burn injuries and every relevant practitioner knows the best techniques to treat them.
